Xo, Kitty  plot

Let me give you a little context before diving into XO, Kitty Season 2. Our girl Kitty (Anna Cathcart) is the youngest daughter of a Korean-American family with two elder sisters. Her mom? Korean. And unfortunately, she passed away when Kitty was just 3 years old. Ever since, Kitty has had this burning urge to connect with her mother’s culture, heritage, etc. Oh, and did I mention? She’s a matchmaker—the matchmaker of the iconic Peter-Covey couple from To All the Boys I Have Loved Before. Anyway, fast forward to a family trip to Korea, where she met her first crush, Dae (Minyeong Choi)—obviously Korean.

And here is the XO, Kitty Season 1 Summary

Kitty scored a heritage scholarship at an international school in Korea called KISS. Yes, that’s the same school Dae goes to. I mean, let’s be real, that’s the reason Kitty applied there, right? But nope, there’s more to it. She wanted to find her mother’s roots and maybe uncover a hidden family or two. In Season 1, Kitty brought her trademark chaos along with her matchmaking skills. She also experienced love, embarrassment, culture shock, rare friendships (big shoutout to QAnthony Keyvan—by the way 🫶), and of course, made an enemy 🥱. Oh, and by the end of Season 1, things exploded. She got terminated from KISS, realized she was bi, and fell for someone she really shouldn’t have. To top it off, her soul enemy the narcissist Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) confessed to her 🙊.

Like, seriously, so much drama in just one season, right? 😌😌 Anyway, there’s more to unpack in Season 1. If you want a full breakdown, comment below, and maybe I’ll write a blog on it too.

Xo, Kitty Season 2 Storyline

For now, let’s focus on the spices on Xo, Kitty Season 2 which just dropped with even more chaos and drama 😌.

Our chaos queen Kitty somehow managed to get into the second semester at KISS—thanks to her bestie Yuri (Gia Kim), who also happens to be the one Kitty’s secretly crushing on 🤐. And this time? Kitty’s not living in the boys’ dorm anymore. Her new room is in the girls’ dorm, where she’s sharing it with Yuri and Yuri’s girlfriend Juliana (Regan Aliyah). Yes, you read that right 🫥🫥. Of course, no one at KISS knows about their relationship. So now Yuri and Juliana are thrilled to have their trusty matchmaker, Kitty, as their roommate to cover for them.

But let’s talk about Kitty for a second. 😑 Will she really be happy watching her crush all loved up with someone else? 🤔🤔 A little relief to her misery comes in the form of her other roommate, Stella (Audrey Huynh). More on this angelic church girl later.

Meanwhile, Kitty reconnects with her bestie Q, her first crush Dae, and… oh, right, Min Ho. Remember him? Yeah, the one she rejected. But meeting him again? Not so easy. Kitty’s ready to be chill, but Min Ho’s out here deliberately avoiding her. And Dae and Min Ho? Still not on good terms. Btw, a quick mention of Q’s bully/rival/whatever-you-wanna-call-him: Jin (Joshua Hyunho). Honestly, he’s hilarious 😹😹.

Now, back to Kitty. She’s trying to move on from Yuri, and in the process, she meets this cool new girl, Praveena (Sasha Bhasin).

On top of that, Kitty is still hunting for her mom’s family. Yuri, being the MVP she was in Season 1, is still helping Kitty with this mission. But let’s be real—when you’re around your crush, it’s hard to hide your feelings, right? Juliana definitely noticed the sparks, and yep, it caused some turbulence in her relationship with Yuri. And let me just say—Yuri was the most confusing character this season. One minute, she’s kissing Kitty, and the next, she’s trying to patch things up with Juliana. Girl, pick a lane!

Oh, and let’s not forget Stella—Kitty’s other roommate. Turns out, Stella had a crush on Min Ho, and guess what? Kitty the Matchmaker slayed once again. Yes, Stella and Min Ho are now a thing.

Meanwhile, Kitty and Min Ho finally managed to talk and patch things up. Actually, things became more than normal. Every now and then, Min Ho was there for Kitty—freaking out when she faked being unconscious during a race, helping her sneak into the library, and so much more.

Top moment from Xo, Kitty Season 2

It’s my favorite scene❤️ Min Ho taking Kitty to her mother’s family and comforting her in the rain. The way he was praising her? It was like a ghost chanting the name of Ram. 😂

On the flip side, Kitty was trying to protect Min Ho from Stella, who apparently had ulterior motives.

Xo, Kitty Season 2’s Best Scenes

Peter’s cameo (with a little matchmaking on his part 😉😉), Kitty’s family reunion (which I haven’t elaborated on here), and Min Ho’s consistent efforts to be there for Kitty ❤️❤️

It’s only an eight-episode series, so there’s so much more that I couldn’t fit into this blog. These were just my favorite highlights. If you’ve read this far, go watch it already!
